Safe Space: Trauma-Sensitive Yoga lecture

Saturday, February 22nd, 8:30 am-1:00 pm
Fly Yoga Sarajevo

I am very much looking forward to reconnecting with our Sangha in Sarajevo, where Ada Vuk, one of Spanda Institute's Lead Trainers, has been leading our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training courses for several years, bringing our renowned international training to BIH, and expanding our global Sangha. I will teach a fluid, playful morning yoga class, followed by a lecture on Trauma Sensitive Yoga. You’re welcome to join us for both the class and the lecture or attend just one.

Spanda Vinyasa - Jala Flow

08:30 - 10:00

In the morning, I will guide a water-inspired Vinyasa class featuring mandala sequencing, where we’ll move in different directions around the mat to cultivate fluidity, softness, and adaptability both on and off the mat. This will be a donation-based class, with all proceeds going to a local charity, allowing us to give back to the community, which is such an essential part of yoga. The suggested donation is 15 euros, but please feel free to give what you can. To apply, use the donate button below.

Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Lecture

10:30 - 13:00

Following the class, I will offer an introductory lecture on Trauma-Sensitive Yoga. This lecture is designed mainly for yoga teachers, but anyone who would benefit from this knowledge can join. We will explore the core principles of a trauma-informed approach, offering insights on creating safer, non-triggering, more supportive spaces for everyone. In addition, we'll discuss practical techniques and modifications that can be integrated into any yoga practice, empowering yoga teachers to support better all students, not only those who may be navigating trauma.
