WHAT IS SOMATIC PSYCHOTHERAPY?

Somatic, or often called Body-oriented Psychotherapy is a holistic therapeutic approach grounded in the mind-body connection. Somatic Psychology assumes that our bodies, in one way or another, store past events; both happy and traumatic, and we can use the body as a guide to the unconscious. Every cell holds an energetic vibration storing memory information. In many cases, past traumas may manifest physical symptoms like pain, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, sexual dysfunction, immune system dysfunction, depression and anxiety.

Somatic Psychotherapies combine traditional approaches to counselling, including dream work, talk, interpretation, and reflection as well as explorations including movement or other bodily expression, breathwork etc.

Therapy is essentially a form of emotional hygiene we all need once in a while, not only when we are going through something challenging.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Before our first session I will send you a form to fill out, which is more of a guide to help you tell me a few things about yourself before we fist meet. The sessions themselves unfold organically, as they should. My hope is that, after each session, you will feel more balanced and integrated, but also will be able to apply some tools I will show you, in your daily life.
