Home made lip balm

I am in the middle of a little project I call "conscious, mindful living" I will write about soon. Amongst other things, my project involves plastic free living, or plastic free to the extent of my abilities. This means that, if I have a choice, I will choose not to buy anything packaged in plastic no matter how 'inconvenient' that may be for me at that particular moment. So, when I was shopping for a lip balm and a new deodorant I realised both had plastic packaging and decided to look for the alternative.

Vegan chocolate heaven

Holiday season is probably the worst time (except maybe when travelling) to be vegan. Unless your whole family is vegan or really well informed and open minded, but that, unfortunately is not the case with most families, there will be questions asked and eyebrows raised. Vegetarian is odd enough, but when you say no to everything containing animal produce, that tends to turn you into an full on eccentric.

Raw vegan truffles

Mix walnuts and pecans (or any other nuts you like) in a food processor until you powder them. Process dates, coconut oil and honey until you get a nice paste like mixture. Add your nut powder into the mixture until you get an even paste. Add cacao nibs and cacao powder in the end. Mix just long enough to mix the cacao in, but not too long as you don't want to powder the cacao nibs.

Gluten free (Xmas) chocolate cake

I have been gluten free for a while now due to autoimmune condition, not a trend as some may think:). I do cheat sometimes as some of my favourite foods, I guess like everyone else’s, are full of gluten, lactose and sugars. I can write about why all of those are bad for you some other time, I don’t want to spoil your next slice of Xmas cake at grandma's.

Purple deliciousness

It’s wild blueberry season and even though I didn’t go look for them in a nearby forest this year, I was happy to buy them at the market. Today after my practice I made his tasty desert I called Purple deliciousness. Apart from being tasty it is super healthy and rich in antioxidants. 
It takes only a few minutes to prepare + 15 min to cool down in the fridge (tastes better when chilled) and voilà!
